Today we wandered...

Today was a day filled with many things. The morning was spent going to Moomoos usual baby sensory class in Brondesbury Park. Obviously that is not enough to do in one morning so i raced across town to a culturebaby event at the Serpentine Gallery.

I joined a assortment of other mums with small ones in tow for a guided tour of the new pavilion. I have now attended three culture baby events and have found each one to be fun and informative. The thought that goes into the building of the pavilion is fascinating. That and the fact that it is sold off to usually a private collection after its stint in Hyde Park.

After my injection of culture we popped into Chiswick to have some lunch with him indoors. Moomoos decided she as no longer going to play along with my plans for the day.

Now home and exhausted, the children either sleeping or playing I am folding yet more cranes whilst listening to Laura Marling.

"Well I, own this field
And I wrote this sky
And I have no reason, to reason with you

I'd be sad that I never held your hand as you were lowered, but I'd understand that I'd never let it go
I'd be sad that I never held your hand as you were lowered, but I'd understand that the world does what it does

And you never did learn to let the little things go
And you never did learn to let me be
And you never did learn to let little people grow
And you never did learn how to see

But I whisper that I love this man, now and for forever to your soul as it floats out off the window
To the world that you turned your back on,
To the world that never really let you be,

And I am Laura now, and Laura still,
And you did always say that one day I would suffer.
You did always say that people get their pay.
You did always say that I was going places,
And that you wouldn't have it any other way.

But I couldn't turn my back on a world, for what I like wouldn't let me
But I couldn't turn my back on a world for And I couldn't turn my back on sweet smelling Blackberry stone"
A beautiful song showing true song writing craft. What i should really be doing is packing for our trip to Brighton. 10 days with the children on the south coast. This will either be a stroke of inspiration or a wet and windy nightmare. Lets hope for the former.
